Specific skills, the more the better:

• Programming Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, CMS integration experience is a plus. Good understanding of ES6 and REST APIs.
• Ability to create well-designed UIs using modern HTML, JavaScript, and CSS (using Sass and / or Less)
• Expertise with Web pack, gulp and other front end build tools (npm)
• Frameworks: React, Redux.
• Experience writing unit tests in JavaScript (Mocha) and end-to-end (Cypress)
• Web Concepts: REST, JSON
• Expert knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, and working with REST APIs

Skills & Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science.

• Comprehension of continuous integration and continuous deployment methodologies, tools and software version control systems, with tools such as Jenkins, Vagrant, Cloud Formation, Git.

Toyoko is seeking a highly motivated and skilled bioinformatician to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key role in advancing our understanding of plant biology through the analysis of next-generation sequencing data.

Responsabilities:

• Preprocess, analyze, and visualize methylation data across the genome using cutting-edge tools and techniques.
• Perform RNA-seq analysis, including raw data processing, alignment, differential expression analysis, and network analysis.
• Develop and manage bioinformatics pipelines for automating complex data analysis workflows.
• Design and implement R Shiny apps for data visualization and exploration.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of bioinformatics tools using Python and tools like Nanocaller, bcftools, BWA, MAFFT, Bowtie, HTSTream, and Kallisto.
• Utilize proficiency in AWS cloud computing to manage and analyze large datasets.
• Manage and maintain databases using SQL and MySQL.
• Collaborate with scientists to interpret results and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Present findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.

Skills & Experience:

• Master in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in bioinformatics research with a focus on next-generation sequencing data analysis.
• Strong proficiency in R programming and experience with Python scripting.
• Experience with at least one workflow management system like Slurm.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
• Working knowledge of bioinformatics tools for data pre-processing, alignment, differential expression analysis, and network analysis (e.g., FastQC, MultiQC, Monocle, Bioconductor, Seurat).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
